CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Mexican gray wolf was quickly recaptured after escaping the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Monday.
Director of Communications Jacqueline Gerling said staff captured the wolf after it breached its habitat, according to WOIO.
No one was injured in the incident, and Gerling said that workers are trying to figure out how the wolf escaped.
According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Mexican wolf, the smallest gray wolf subspecies, was listed as endangered in 1976.
