Before you head out to your next sporting event, check your folding stadium seats. About 22,500 have been recalled after it was found that the hooks that secure them to bleachers can crack and break.

The AMX Global Portable Folding Stadium Seats were sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club and Big 5 Corp stores across the country as well as on Amazon from July 2022 until January 2024 for between $30 and $50, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

They were sold under BJ’s Wholesale or Black Sierra brands and have the Berkley Jensen logo on the back top side if the BJ’s brand or the Black Sierra logo on the top right side if they are the Black Sierra Brand.

The Black Sierra seat has date code 05/2022 or 11/2022 on the white tag on the bottom of the seat while the Berkley Jensen ones have 04/2022 on the tag. Only those dates are part of the recall, the CPSC said.

If you have the recalled stadium seats, you’re told not to use them and cut through the fabric on the seat and backrest. Once cut, take a photo of the seat showing the cuts, your initials and date in the photo, then send the image to AMX Global via email. You will get a full refund, the CPSC said.

For more information, contact AMX Global at 888-439-5139 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, by email or online.
